Because I wasn't satisfied with the automatic backlight adjustment of my Diamond (it was always too bright for my needs), I made G-Light.
With this tool you can adjust your backlight levels according to the values your light sensor measures...
You can also change the interval how often the light sensor should be accessed.
With those two features you may save some battery power (still need some benchmarking if this is true...)

PWI Converter
PWI Converter can extract embedded sound (WAV) files from Pocket Notes (PWI) files.
ActiveSync has always been unable to extract embedded sound files from Notes (.PWI) files, causing a lot of problems to people using this way to create notes with embedded voice notes - the embedded voice notes could not be played off your desktop computer. Also, up to now, there has been a complete lack of an application doing this. PWI Converter can extract embedded sound (WAV) files from Pocket Notes (PWI) files.
Usage:
1. download the ZIP file
2. extract the CAB file meant for your device. For example, all WM2003+ users should extract PWI_Embedded_Sound_Extractor_ARMV4.CAB. Transfer it to your PDA.
3. start File Explorer on your PDA and click the CAB file. Alternatively, you can use CabInstl or other tools like FileDialogChanger to install it on a storage card.
4. start the application (it doesn't have any fancy icon - just look for the name PWISoundExtractor).
5. As instructed, click 'Convert!' and, on the next screen, just click on a PWI file that contains embedded sound files. The app will extract the files and tells you how many of them there were and into what directory it extracted them.
The PC version is similar but it lacks error detection (which isn't a problem if you don't pass it files that don't have embedded sound files etc) and has a slightly different GUI. It works the same way: it puts the extracted files into the same directory as the input file.

If you write without brackets, you get quite another - "x times y per cent of x".
Examples:
By 200 plus 5% of the 200:

iWeather v0.1
First release!
this is the first release of my first own app for a pocketpc. It's completely written in VC# and should work on all devices up from WM5 with QVGA screen. I'm a totaly noob in writing or coding apps, but maybe you like it.
The app uses the weather feed from yahoo (or weather.com). When you run iWeather, you need to connect to the internet. Same for the Settings.exe.
How to:
1. open Settings.exe
2. enter your LocationID
3. press ENTER
4. press Done-Button
IMPORTANT! It is nessessary to stay online!
Things to do:
- fix battery-bug in Settings.exe
- adding more than one location
- open settings by pushing the
- caching data for offline use
- maybe integrating settings into iWeather
- maybe different language support

- search in Settings.exe only writes the LocationID (e.g. USNY0996) and the displayed unit into the city.xml (you can find your LocationID at http://weather.yahoo.com )

- iWeather will automaticaly start, after pushing "done"-button in Settings.

Did you forget where the car park? Then GParkS for you. With the help of the programs you have, before leaving his horse, can set the data in the location, and then if needed to find it using Google Maps.
The other day I was at a football game where I had to park on a golf course far from the stadium and ended up wandering around for 20 minutes trying to locate the car afterward.
I knew that the iPhone had an app called "Dude, Where's My Car?" which let someone use GPS to tag a specific location and then later use Google Maps to guide them back to the GPS mark, but when I did some searching I couldn't find a WinMo version. So I made one.
This version isn't as sexy as the iPhone app, but it's free, and you can store up to 3 different locations and even name them if you'd like. When you want to locate one, you just click the respective Find button and you will be provided a compass direction (N, NW, S, SW, E, SE, W, NE) and approximate distance to your destination which will change as you contin
ue to move.
I did some testing and got rid of whatever bugs I could find and everything seems to work. Since I find it useful to have, I wanted to pass it on to the community in case they might be interested as well.

S2U2 Device Lock Today Plugin
As you might installed and worked with S2U2 (aka Slide 2 Unlock), you would see lack of an item like standard windows mobile's Device Lock item.
First I developed an managed one (I mean using .net compact framework). As far as it can take more memory space and has less functionality, I coded a new application in pure C++.
I have tested this application on WM 6.0 and great TNT WM 6.1 on my device (Wizard).

You can use WiFiTunes with iTunes 6 (Mac and Windows) or Firefly Media Server (Mac, Windows and Linux).

Firefly Media Server is an excellent choice because it easily shares all the songs in your music folder and detects and shares your iTunes playlists. Read more about why Firefly is so great on the Roku Soundbridge site (Soundbridge is basically a dedicated hardware version of WiFiTunes).

WiFiTunes works with the DLINK DNS-323 NAS (Network Storage) which has a built-in iTunes server. It also will work with the Linksys NSLU2 with some modifications.

Description:
This project started primarily as a proof of concept and is still very much still work in progress so please email feedback if you would like a feature added. This application will discover via Bonjour any iTunes running on Macs or PCs on your local network and allow you to browse the library or playlist and then stream MP3s directly to your PDA. Example uses include connecting your PDA headphone jack into a stereo in another room in your house (I have mine streaming music to the bathroom).

Major things that need done are AAC support (at the moment it uses the fmodce library so see here for the file formats supported). I'll contact the fmod folks and see if they are planning on adding AAC support. I've set it so it doesnt bother displaying any m4p or m4a files. Although AAC is superior to MP3 in terms of VBR to filesize, in terms of quality its not very well known that LAME MP3 is in fact better. I heard that if you are using iTunes to do your cd wripping then iTunes AAC does produce better quality than iTunes MP3. But if you want the best then a LAME MP3 encoder plugin for itunes is available for OS X.

Since fmod doesnt really support streaming on the PDA it involved a bit of a **** with a memory buffer. That buffer probably needs monitored properly, I mean at the moment if the music doesnt transfer over quick enough it will just stop playing.

Install via the cab file, then connect to your wireless network, remove from the dock, run WiFiTunes and pick an iTunes share in the top left box. Click on the box to choose playlists. Click on a track and press play.

A C# implementation of the DAAP protocol was written using AppleRecords as a reference so thanks to Chris for doing all that tedious work. Thanks also to SPAlarm for starting a fmod C# wrapper.

Its only been tested on Pocket PC 2003, 2003 SE and WM5. Sorry but it won't work on 2002 because Rendezvous depends on mDNS in Winsock2, which is not available. I plan on updating it to allow the entry of a static IP to your itunes server (will also allow connection over the internet), and when that happens you will need the .NET compact framework installed.

Please email feature requests or post them in the forum. I'm very intrested in hearing from people who use WiFiTunes and together hopefully we can improve it.

gMeter is an application that turns the HTC Touch Diamond/Pro or Touch HD into vehicle performance computers, by using the onboard accelerometer in these devices.
gMeter can measure forward and lateral g forces and it can calculate the
Horsepower of a vehicle (wheels or engine), using the device's internal GPS.
All the values, including the g-forces (m/s^2), angles, GPS data and calculated
horsepower (KWatt or /746 for HP), can be saved to a log file, for furthermore
processing.
It can also calculate the 0 - 100 Km/h or 0 - 60 miles/h acceleration time. In
dragster mode, the application can calculate the time and the horsepower for
0 - 402 meter or 1/4 of mile acceleration. Also, the gMeter can keep the max
horsepower and the max values of g-forces and angles.
The gMeter can draw the 'circuit' according to the longitude and latitude values
measured by the internal GPS. gMeter can also create speed and horsepower
graphs using the log files.
The device needs to be placed in a vehicle and gMeter needs to be calibrated
for position, with the vehicle at rest on a level surface.
