Speed Cam 2.3 This Python application provides a speed camera warning program for the Nokia N95 phone and other suitable Symbian Series 60 3rd ed phones. It is designed to operate in the background (e.g. whilst using Nokia Maps or in standby) and popup to the foreground with an audio visual alert, then return to the background. Due to the restrictions imposed by Symbian Signed, the installation process is a bit tedious. A suitable speed camera data file is required. A dummy file speedcam.txt is provided to illustrate the required format of the file. For the UK, a good source of up to date files is available at Pocket GPS World - an annual subscription is required to obtain the relevant file (pocketgps_uk_sc.csv). An old pocketgps_uk_sc.csv file that can be used to try out the application is available free in the downloads section. This application has only been tested on an N95-1 running V21 firmware using both the internal GPS and an external BlueTooth GPS, but should work with other Series 60 3ed phones that support Location Based Services. What's new in this release: · Possible fix added for N95 8GB problem where Nokia Maps overlay appears in middle of screen. However I'm not able to confirm the fix as I don't have an N95 8GB. SmartCam - Smart Phone Web Camera - Turns a Symbian Series 60 phone with bluetooth and camera into a handy webcam ready to use with your PC .

1. Installation/compilation on PC
Almost all the files needed are in the 'release' folder.
SmartCam for linux is made of the usual phone files, a user mode application (smartcam)
and a driver to emulate a webcam (smartcam.ko). The bad news is that drivers can not be
released in binary form anymore, unless your system happens to run the kernel version
used to compile the driver. smartcam.ko was compiled using kernel version 2.6.24-18-generic
If you are not running this version of the kernel you will have to compile the driver yourself.
Just open a shell in the src/driver path and type:
make -C /lib/modules/2.6.24-18-generic/build M=`pwd` modules
In the above command replace /lib/modules/2.6.24-18-generic/build to the path corresponding to
your system. After successfully compiling the driver you should have the file smartcam.ko in the
src/driver folder.
If you want to compile the application as well go to src/app and type:
gcc `pkg-config --cflags --libs gtk+-2.0 gthread-2.0` -lbluetooth smartcam.c -o smartcam
2 Installation on phone
Just transfer any of the files SmartCamS603rdEd.SIS, SmartCamS602ndEd.SIS that
match your phone on your mobile and follow the installation instructions.
3. Running
Before running smartcam, the driver must be loaded in the kernel; if not the PC application will
complain at start time and exit. To load the driver, open a shell as root in src/driver path and type:
/sbin/modprobe videodev
/sbin/insmod smartcam.ko
After this start the application on the PC, start the phone application and connect it to your PC.
You should now see video images on the PC application window.
4. 3rd party applications
SmartCam was tested on Ubuntu 8.04, kernel version 2.6.24-18-generic, bluez-utils 3.30-3.
Note: some earlier bluez-utils versions don't work with SmartCam.
SmartCam works with Kopete, Ekiga, aMsn and gstreamer (launch gstreamer-properties, go to the video
tab, Default Input, and press Test to see if it is supported by gstreamer). Unfortunately it doesn't
work with skype, nor with gstfakevideo for skype.

MobileRediff updated its application to version 1.04 with the addition of a very useful phonebook backup option to the service.

Launched recently, the Java-based application enables users to keep a check of their email, send messages and browse news while on the move. The email application found the most use with its Gmail App like interface finding many takers. Other services like News were text message based.

Weather
The Weather midlet is a Java application for mobile devices to check the weather conditions in different locations. Download the new measurement and forecast data any time using the Refresh menu item. There are different views in the Weather midlet and you can change the views with the Up/Down navigation buttons. In the bottom-left corner you'll find the elapsed time from the last data source refresh. It's measured not from the refresh button press on the phone but the refresh of the real computed/measured data on the server. The Autorefresh option makes it possible to refresh the meteorological data automatically in regular intervals. Currently there are three main views:

Overview

You can check the current weather conditions in your locations on the same screen with this view. Basically this is a list with the selected cities and the current conditions of those locations.

Forecast

This is a four days forecast for one location at a time. You can change the location with the Left/Right navigation buttons. For each location you can check the high and low temperature and precipitation levels forecasts for the next four days.

Current conditions

You can see the current detailed weather conditions for each location. Change between locations with the Left/Right navigation buttons. The following data is available on this screen (from top to down):
Temperature
RealFeel? temperature
Wind direction and speed
Pressure value and tendency
Precipitation levels
Relative humidity
You can use this midlet in conjunction with the Sunclock midlet. If you already use the Sunclock, the Weather will import your city settings from it. Otherwise you will get the default city set. You can modify the cities with the Cities menu item or you can search locations on the internet using the Search menu. For better city search results sometimes it's needed to add the country code after the city name. For example if you want to locate Halle, DE you should use the query string "Halle DE" because there are a lot of American cities with similar name so the search for "Halle" wouldn't work. It is possible to change the units between metric and American system. There is an update function where you can check any software updates using the Update menu item. The Help and About functions will display the usual information screens, getting help, checking version and so on.

If you find layout problems you may check the other available variants using the 'Variant' function. This function doesn't change the layout immediately; it just sets your required variant if you will make an 'Update' in the future. If you changed the preferred variant, the system will allow the update even if there isn't a newer version available.

b. Accept only recognized call. In this mode, all of the unknown calls will be rejected; those recognized calls (names are already stored in the phonebook/contacts) will be not affected.

c. Reject calls from blacklist.In this mode, all of the calls from the predefined blacklist will be automatically rejected, whereas the rest of the calls will not have any effect. An end user can make use of "Manage Lists" function to create the needed blacklist. This can be used in the situation when a user does not want to be harassed from some people.

d. Accept call from whitelist. In contrast to the previous one, in this mode, mobile only accept calls from the predefined whitelist. All of the other calls from non-whitelist will be automatically rejected. An end user may use "Manage Lists" function to create the needed whitelist.

e. Personalized call rejection. In this mode,an end user may define personalized call rejections for each of the members in the "Specific List". A user may select "Reject call", "Reply by SMS" or "Greeting" options to reject calls. A user may use "Manage Lists" to create his/her "Specific list".


2 Hide and Manage SMS
a. "PCG" can help to manage the SMS messages in the mobile phone to make the needed messages visible or invisible in the "Inbox/Sent" of the Nokia "Messaging" application. In this case, a user can hide the sensitive information even your phone is lost, or the user does not want to share the information with others.
b. An end user may create his/her "Baby list" using "PCG". Once the "Baby list" has been set up, in the next start-up of "PCG", it will automatically scan all of the existing short messages. If a message is to from the "Baby list", then messages will be automatically hidden. In addition, it can also automatically hide the short messages from "Baby list" if it is running. This will eventually protect the user's privacy since others cannot view the SMS without supplying a correct password. A user can set his/her password in "Active mode". When an SMS from "Baby list" comes in the mobile phone icon on the top-left corner of the screen will keep blinking until the user has entered the "Manage SMS" / "Call Records" area using "PCG".


3 Hide and Manage Phone call log
All of the phone call records from "Baby list" will be automatically hidden. A user can ONLY view the phone call record by inputting a correct password.
When a call from one of the member in the "Baby list" comes in, if it is not answered, then a small "mobile phone icon" will keep blinking until the user enters either "Manage SMS" or "Call Records" area with a correct password provided.


4 Phone call recording
&nbspWhenever a call has been establish (in whichever user interface), if a user wants to record the caller's voice (for example, please tell me your phone number or your home address, then I can record it down), the user just simply needs to simultaneously press "ABC" ***(on which has a pen icon) and "+" ***, "PCG"will automatically invoke the "Recorder" application in S60 to record the telephony voice. As such, t the caller's voice and the user's voice will be recorded simultaneously. A user may the functions from the recorder to "Stop", "Pause" or "Continue" to record the voice. Note:For those S60 phones, which has the "QWERTY" ***board layout,a user needs to use "CTRL+A" *** combination to activate the telephony voice call recording. Currently, Nokia S60 E61 has the ***board layout.


5 Automatic call rejection
&nbspWhen this function is used, all of the incoming calls will be automatically rejected. If the caller uses a mobile phone to make the call,then the caller may receive a customized SMS message. This is especially useful when a user does not want to be disturbed; however,he/she still wants the caller to get some information about the callee. A user may choose an SMS template like "I am driving call"or "I am having a meeting now, please do not disturb me"as a reply.



6 Automatic removal of the SMS message from the blacklist
&nbspA user may define his/her own "SMS Blacklist". In this case, all of the SMS from the blacklist will be automatically removed when the SMS message come in. This function is very useful when a user does not want to receive those harass SMS messages or advertisement SMS messages.

7 ***board autolock
&nbspA user may define a time interval for "Autolock time interval"。When ***board is not used within the time, then "Call Manager" will help to lock the ***board automatically.

8 Quick *** lock function
&nbspExcept the time when a call is established, no matter whichever user interface a user is currently in, the user may simultaneously press "ABC" ***(on which there is a pen)and "+" *** to activate the quick *** lock function. The benefit of this function is that a user does not to switch to the "Idle screen" in order the lock the ***board. Another benefit of this function is that it can help us to quickly lock whichever screen. Note:1) For some of the S60 phones, when this quick *** lock function is activated, after *** lock is deactivated in the active idle screen, a user may not see the left/right soft ***s in the screen. If this happens, a user may press any of the numeric ***s in the phone to recover this situation, or a user may choose to use the S60 standard way ("left soft ***" + "+" ***) to activate the *** lock function since this ONLY happens in the active idle screen 2) For those S60 phones, which have the "QWERTY" ***board layout, a user must use "CTRL+A" *** combination to activate the telephony voice recording。Currently, Nokia E60 uses the ***board.

Adding oplogos to S60 3rd Edition without complicated procedures using ****s and file managers (and without using a program that stays in memory)
Using any image in the gallery (with limitations in this release images are squished to the correct size future versions will allow you to crop or resize keeping aspect ratios as well as squishing)

Hiding the oplogo so it is transparent
Removing the oplogo, reverting back to the textual operator name So far, preliminary testing has revealed that coloured oplogos cant feature transparency, which is a bit disappointing. so Im looking at alternative ways to fix this (maybe automatically use the background of the current theme, placing the oplogo on top although this would mean you would have to re-activate the oplogo every time you change the theme an alternative approach would be to keep a program running in the background to artificially add an oplogo with transparency).

The size of the oplogo varies between different resolutions. These might not be 100% correct (and hopefully alpha testing will reveal the exact dimensions), but from what I can tell, these are the oplogo sizes:

For 240 x 320 resolutions (e.g. N95): 134 x 35 pixels
For 176 x 208 resolutions (e.g. N91): 97 x 25 pixels
For 352 x 416 resolutions (e.g. N80): 194 x 50 pixels
Please note that these are for portrait resolutions only. Im not sure about the oplogo sizes for landscape resolutions (or for resolutions not mentioned here). Feel free to experiment and let me know!

So anyway, enough waffle heres how it works (with pictures):

1. Once installed and launched, a menu appears. Ignore the yellow jigsaw icons for now these are the default icons provided in the SDK and will be replaced by proper icons in future versions. From here, you can activate a new oplogo, make the logo transparent, restore the original operator text (i.e. remove the logo) or exit the application. The Help feature does'nt work in 0.01a.

So, I'm sure you've worked out that you just choose an option in the list to select the relevant feature.

Well start with adding a new operator logo. Before I started, there was no oplogo installed, so the standard operator text (3) was displayed:

Seems simple enough, doesnt it? Basically choose a picture from the gallery, wait a few seconds while the program works it magic, reboot your phone and ta-da! Its done. Could it be simpler? Of course, in future versions as I mentioned there will be advanced options to resize/crop/scale the image if it isn't the correct size, but for now it'll just squash any image to the dimensions quoted above, depending on your phones screen resolution.

I also mentioned that there is no transparency for colour oplogos, so if you're wondering what I did to get a seemingly transparent 3 logo, I made the logo transparent, took a screenshot, pasted the 3 logo on top, cut out the correct dimensions and saved it as a graphic which was sent to the phone and activated as an oplogo. Might sound complicated, but its straightforward. Im considering automating this procedure based on the currently activated theme background. (If this doesnt make sense, ignore it I know what I mean even if nobody else does )

A even easier process applies when making a logo transparent or reverting to the operator text. Simply choose the option, choose Yes to confirm and reboot the phone. Its done. See below for some screenshots:

Making the logo transparent

Hopefully as you can see, its really simple to make the logo transparent. Click the Hide logo button, choose Yes to confirm that you want to do it and reboot your phone. When the standby screen appears again, the operator logo area will be totally transparent - no logo, no text.

Restoring the original operator text

Ultimately, this is the same process as making a logo transparent - just choose the Restore optext button, hit Yes to confirm, reboot and its done.

Remember, I expect that this software does have bugs, because its the very first release! Indeed, thanks to faquick he has discovered a couple of issues on his N80 (although it works fine on the N95) that the application may quit if you try to change or hide an operator logo without removing it and rebooting your phone first.

Also on the N95, instead of rebooting your phone, you can switch to UMTS or GSM mode and then back again to Dual Mode to force the oplogo to change. This may (or may not) be more convenient than rebooting.

Please use the Comments section of this post to let me know what you think about it what you like, what you dont like, what should be changed, and bugs that you find (preferably including as much detail as possible).

As always, this is development software not suitable for final release so please back up your phone before installing and using this program, and I would recommend that it is installed on the memory card (although it should work on phone memory too). I've been planning application localization for some time now, but it's always felt like too much trouble. I knew in general how to do it, but the devil is in details.

The wonderful and very informatic (*) PyS60 Forum Nokia Discussion Board contained a link to "Mobile Web Server Tutorial for custom applications" describing how MWS supports localization. This was exactly how I would have done localization, if I had ever actually done it!

The MSW sample was a bit too high-level, so I decided to write some sample code including all the details. Here you are, hope you find it useful!

1. Installation/compilation on PC

Almost all the files needed are in the 'release' folder.
SmartCam for linux is made of the usual phone files, a user mode application (smartcam)
and a driver to emulate a webcam (smartcam.ko). The bad news is that drivers can not be
released in binary form anymore, unless your system happens to run the kernel version
used to compile the driver. smartcam.ko was compiled using kernel version 2.6.24-18-generic
If you are not running this version of the kernel you will have to compile the driver yourself.
Just open a shell in the src/driver path and type:
make -C /lib/modules/2.6.24-18-generic/build M=`pwd` modules
In the above command replace /lib/modules/2.6.24-18-generic/build to the path corresponding to
your system. After successfully compiling the driver you should have the file smartcam.ko in the
src/driver folder.
If you want to compile the application as well go to src/app and type:
gcc `pkg-config --cflags --libs gtk+-2.0 gthread-2.0` -lbluetooth smartcam.c -o smartcam

2 Installation on phone

Just transfer any of the files SmartCamS603rdEd.SIS, SmartCamS602ndEd.SIS that
match your phone on your mobile and follow the installation instructions.

3. Running

Before running smartcam, the driver must be loaded in the kernel; if not the PC application will
complain at start time and exit. To load the driver, open a shell as root in src/driver path and type:
/sbin/modprobe videodev
/sbin/insmod smartcam.ko
After this start the application on the PC, start the phone application and connect it to your PC.
You should now see video images on the PC application window.

4. 3rd party applications

SmartCam was tested on Ubuntu 8.04, kernel version 2.6.24-18-generic, bluez-utils 3.30-3.
Note: some earlier bluez-utils versions don't work with SmartCam.
SmartCam works with Kopete, Ekiga, aMsn and gstreamer (launch gstreamer-properties, go to the video
tab, Default Input, and press Test to see if it is supported by gstreamer). Unfortunately it doesn't
work with skype, nor with gstfakevideo for skype.

Ấm ức vì N82 không thể xoay được màn hình chờ. Thua kém N81 và N95. Ví dụ đang ở trong menu ngang cần thoát ra ngoài màn hình chờ bằng phím đỏ nó lại dọc. Thật khó chịu. Tôi đã tìm và thử nghiệm từ rất nhiều nguồn khác nhau --> và cuối cùng đã thành công. Nên tổng hợp lại. Anh em N82 nào thích thì test và cho ý kiến nhé! Vậy là chỉ thiếu cái menu transition nữa thôi là N82 vô đối rồi!!!

1. Down file Wsini về giải nén copy vào C:\system\data
2. Down file c2z4bin.rar về giải nén, copy file c2z4bin_THUMB.rmp vào e:\patches rồi apply autorun trong Rompatcher
3. Copy file C_sys_hash_domainsrv.exe vào theo đường dẫn: c:\sys\hash\ sau đó đổi tên lại là domainsrv.exe
4. Copy file F_sys_bin_domainsrv.exe vào E:\sys\bin\ sau đó đổi tên lại là domainsrv.exe
5. Đổi tên RPAutostart trong c:\sys\bin thành 0RPAutostart

7. Lưu ý là máy cần cài thêm RoteMe hoặc Lancape hoặc NScroll... để có thể tự xoay. Tự xoay của máy không xoay được. Mình dùng RoteMe 2.2 vì nếu không thích tự động xoay thì ở chế độ màn hình ngang Exit RoteMe đi là nó ngang như dòng E

Xong khởi động lại máy --> Bật một trong các chương trình lưu ý ở bước 7 lên rồi trở ra màn hình chờ. Xoay dọc, ngang và thưởng thức.

Tác giả bản patch có lưu ý là máy bạn phải là thẻ nhớ ngoài để nếu có lỗi gì thì chỉ việc tháo thẻ xóa Domainsrv.exe trong E:\sys\bin\. Nhưng tui nghĩ N82 thì thẻ nhớ ngoài hết mà!

The python program to remove the symbian and java applications, games and themes installed on the symbian smartphone.

Program Features:
- Remove applications without unnecessary queries
- mass removal of selected applications
- Automatically search for the removal of one or another application tails.

Program has four tabs which shows the list of installed applications (All tab shows all installed applicatins hands and themes, SIS tab shows symbian applications, Themes tab shows installed themes, Java lab shops installed java applications).

Listed items can be marked for removal, which is done using 'pencil' or '#' ***.
To remove the marked items, you need to press the delete [C] ***. A popup window will show all marked items to be removed. so as to show what items are to be removee and not removed by mistake.

The title shows the number of installed applications (one for each tab, changing the title alone).

Usage:

- To outside icons work, we must define these applications in folder C: or E:\Sys\Bin.

- Remember name of *exe file (without "exe")

- Open it, click 1 in 6 above lines, enter name of app, click "OK"

- Reopen it to apply selected apps

- Outside standby screen, press C to change icons

- Enjoy!!
